Bar end shifter mounted braking system
Now you can have added braking control and safety right at your fingertips!
The AeroBrake system is a brand new concept for bicycle brake control. Finally there's a great solution for braking control while in your aerobar's. Not only will riders benefit from the added safety aspect of always having brakes at your fingertips, you will also gain speed through smarter brake control and modulation. No more having to sit up each and every time you need your brakes. Now you can enter corners with greater confidence knowing that you can precisely regulate your speed while remaining in your tuck. The AeroBrake system will help you ride faster by reducing over-braking tendencies and allow you to stay in a more aerodynamically efficient position for greater periods of time.
• Offers clean cable routing
• Great for team time trials and holding tight drafting positions
• Ideal for triathlons where position control is critical to avoid drafting situations
• Huge benefits for racing technical courses and more efficient corner braking
• Super lightweight levers are only 28grams each, far lighter than any brake lever currently sold
The Aerobrake system kit consists of special small and lightweight Aerobrake lever and a double input, single output, DoubleControl cable splitter. The brake lever is designed to attach to bar end shifters. There are left and right side versions for both Campagnolo and Shimano brand bar end shifters.
The DoubleContol cable splitter is a new and totally unique concept. It weighs just 12 grams and is super small and compact. It's versatile in that it can be mounted in a variety of locations including: inline, on top of the brake caliper, or at cable stop locations. It requires no internal springs and allows both brake levers to operate totally independent of each other while maintaining the same feel and function of a single brake lever system.

Question and Answers
Q: Should the AeroBrake system be installed on the front or back brakes?
A: Which brakes should be used in a dual brake lever system tends to be a highly personal choice. Generally speaking, if you are using the AeroBrake system with aerobar's, the primary advantage is most realized when using it with the rear brake. Front brake usage tends to be useful for straight line braking, but generally should be avoided when cornering. How, where, and the way, in which brakes are used is a highly personal choice dependent on the rider’s skill, road conditions, and desired usage. Consideration needs be given to desired use prior to installation.
Q: How does the AeroBrake system compare to the inline brake levers a number of pro teams are starting to use.
A: Far better! The cable routing is long and messy when using inline brake levers. It also requires the brake housing to cross from one aerobar extension to the other. The Jtek AeroBrake system is much cleaner, practical and refined system.
Q: I'm concerned about bike stability and and safety using the brakes while in the aerobar's.
A: We have received nothing but positive feedback regarding this issue. The power of the brake levers has been intentionally reduced to help people avoid over braking while using them. A firm grip however, will still cause rapid de-acceleration. Most people report bike stability to be much better than expected when braking in aerobar's and feel much safer using them than not having any brakes at all. Of course, common sense and proper judgment are critical to being safe when bicycle riding and when using the aerobrake's or any other kinds of bicycle related gear.
