Question and Answers
Q: How much does the Axe bar weigh?
A: About 275-325 grams. It vary's depending on how short the extension length's are cut to, but this is the range most riders can expect to be in complete with all pads and hardware installed. Also, you have to remember that when installing, you further reduce the weight of the system by about 25 grams because the Axe bar replaces the stem cap.
Q: How hard is it to install and remove the Axe?
A: It's super easy. It's the same as removing and installing a stem cap. Another nice benefit to this design over clip-on's is you don't have to struggle with shifter cable routing over the aerobar clamps because there is none.
Q: Can different extensions be used with the Axe bar?
A: Yes, we have designed our aerobar to accept standard 7/8" (22.2mm) size bars, so if a customer wants to use different style extensions, they are easy to switch out.
Q: Are there any kind of handlebars that won't work with the Axe aerobar?
A: Yes, handlebars with exaggerated, bulging sections which protrude upward or forward close to the stem clamping area should be avoided. These large bulges will interfere with the arm pad mounts and not allow the aerobar to mate up tight to the handlebar.
